{"id":164,"date":"2009-03-01T05:02:43","date_gmt":"2009-03-01T13:02:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/radio3k.com\/rblog\/?p=164"},"modified":"2009-03-18T19:22:17","modified_gmt":"2009-03-19T03:22:17","slug":"passing-of-a-legend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radio3k.com\/rblog\/2009\/03\/01\/passing-of-a-legend\/","title":{"rendered":"Passing of A Legend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the death Saturday of Paul Aurandt\u2014better known as Paul Harvey\u2014we have seen the passing of a true Radio legend.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey&#8217;s Radio career began in 1933 when, as a 14-year old high school student, he landed a part-time job at KVOO in Tulsa. While many of us started part-time in Radio, Harvey&#8217;s career was exceptional. He was a fixture at many of the Radio stations with which I was affiliated during my days in the media, and at least four generations of Americans came to know and trust his voice and unique style of delivery.<\/p>\n<p>In the 21st century\u2014an era where so many are routinely bestowed the appellation of &#8220;legend&#8221;\u2014Harvey was a giant.
