Schedule Options
When a new schedule is created, it inherits the default print options specified in Schedules & Printing. These defaults can be modified individually for each schedule as needed. For convenience, the description of all print options are repeated here. Items marked with µ are available with SCOOTER Pro™ only. Depending on the choice of Print Style, selecting some options will have no effect.
•Load Default Dayparts: Click this button at any time to insert the default dayparts defined in Dayparts & Classes into the current schedule. The default dayparts can be inserted at any point, even when editing an existing schedule. SCOOTER will ask for confirmation before proceeding, as the default dayparts will replace any existing daypart descriptions.
µSCOOTER Pro™ provides enhanced control when loading default dayparts, allowing the selection of which weeks will receive the dayparts, and the selection of which dayparts will be loaded. See Selective Default Dayparts for details.
•Print in landscape mode: Changes the page orientation to print in "wide" (landscape) format (11 x 8.5) instead of the standard portrait orientation of 8.5 x 11.
•Include station logos: Displays station logos (if available) for those stations on the schedule. Logos are scaled to fit the available space and are included on the first page of the schedule only. A maximum of eight logos can be printed.
•Center single station logo: When printing a schedule containing a single station with a logo, check this box to center the logo at the top of the page. If not checked, the logo prints flush left (the default). This option is disabled if Include station logos is unchecked. Schedules with multiple stations/logos always print centered across the page.
•Omit date printed: Printed proposals normally include the date and time the schedule was generated. Check this box to remove that information from the first page of the schedule.
•µColor schedule weeks: When checked, weeks in the schedule may be assigned a color code to differentiate them from other weeks. The selection of color is arbitrary and is typically used to designate "light", "medium", and "heavy" weeks, or pre-sale weeks from sale weeks, etc. Each week's color is used throughout the program and is also included as a background color on the week title (if present) of printed schedules.
•Print lines with no ads: Normally, SCOOTER omits any lines in a schedule that do not have ads scheduled. Checking this box forces all lines of each week's schedule to be printed. This allows the client to see those parts of the day where he is not reaching his customers.
•Show average unit rate: Displays the average unit rate for each week of the schedule and on the grand total line on the last page. Uncheck this box to omit the average rate.
•Round average rate: Available only when Show average unit rate is checked. Rounds the average unit rate to the nearest whole currency value.
•Omit unit rates: Eliminates the display of rates and the entire Rate column for individual lines in the schedule.
•µShow gross/net totals: When an active agency is associated with a schedule, activating this option will create a separate total at the end of the PDF, showing the gross amount of the schedule, the agency commission, and the net total due the station.
•µShow totals by month: Breaks out the total schedule gross amount by broadcast month, printed at the end of the generated PDF. This option is not available if the schedule is designated as a one-price package or monthly/weekly package (use Show package prices instead).
•µUse calendar month: A subset of Show totals by month. Check this box to display totals by calendar month, rather than by broadcast month.
•µShow package prices: This option only applies when using monthly, weekly, or line package pricing and differs depending on the type of package:
▪Monthly pricing: Monthly package prices are printed at the end of the schedule broken out by individual month.
▪Weekly pricing: Each week's package price is printed at the end of the week. If Compress identical weeks is checked, the weekly package amount will be multiplied by the number of weeks displayed for that segment of the schedule.
▪Line pricing: The word "Package" will be displayed in the Rate column if Show package prices is not checked. If checked, the Rate column will display the line package price divided by the number of ads, resulting in a virtual price per ad.
•Combine identical weeks: When checked, weeks with 100% identical schedules (daypart descriptions, number of ads on each line, and daypart rates must be identical) are printed as a single week with a week range (start and end date, total number of weeks). Using this option can significantly reduce the size of the printed schedule when many weeks are involved.
•Show one week totals: When Compress identical weeks is enabled, this option will include a single week's total (both ads and cost) on compressed weeks in addition to the multi-week totals.
•µIndicate ROS days with 'X': Determines if ROS days in a schedule will be indicated by a number within angle brackets (e.g., "<<<<< 20 >>>>>" or by a red X on each day ROS ads can air. See Run of Station Ads.
•Show totals by class: Prints a list of ads by user defined unit classes at the end of the schedule. See Unit Classes.
•µShow cost totals by class: When Show totals by class is checked, checking this option includes the cost of the schedule to the class report at the end of the printed schedule.
•Include client approval: Provides a space at the end of the schedule for the client to sign his approval.
•µInclude calendar: When checked, a one year broadcast calendar is included at the end of the client's printed schedule. Weeks the client is on the air are indicated and are color coded based on the selection of the Color schedule weeks option.
•µShow holidays in red: Available only when Include calendar is selected. When the broadcast calendar is generated, all holidays are indicated with dates printed in red.
